People
Our people form a global network, covering over a dozen countries most with over twenty years experience in their fields. A uniting passion for pushing boundaries has created a successful team of senior executives who form InnerLimits. We provide our clients with the skills of a major global marketing organisation but retain the dynamics, creativity and energy of a boutique agency. This extensive network allows us to rapidly create tailored teams for each project. Alisdair Keir
Al, is one of thed UK’s leading Communications Engineers whose 20 year career has seen him delivering complex cutting edge communications solutions globally. It is against this background that he continues to provide innovative yet pragmatic solutions for those who need to communicate in the most demanding circumstances. Thriving on a network of world class experts who share his passion for involving a wider audience, he is always mindful of the impact this may have on the event participants themselves. An active member of his local sailing club, he enjoys dinghy and yacht racing. He also enjoys sea kayaking and has been a member of many world class expeditions with a diverse range of personalities and environments.

Dr Mike Stroud OBE
A qualified Doctor, Mike is one of the worlds leading medical experts on endurance, nutrition and survival under extreme conditions. He was formerly the Chief Scientist at the UK Centre for Human Sciences and is currently a Consultant Physician and Senior Lecturer in Medicine & Nutrition. He was involved the first attempt to walk to the North Pole and then completed the first unsupported crossing of Antarctica raising over $7 million for charity in the process. In 1993 he was awarded the OBE and Polar Medal. Since 1993 he has been at the forefront of British adventure and endurance racing including participation in the Marathon des Sables and the Eco-Challenge.

Miles Hilton-Barber
Although blind, Miles has successfully completed the 150-mile Marathon des Sables, the Saharan Ultra-Marathon – “The Toughest Footrace on Earth” and the Siberian Ice Marathon – “The Coldest Marathon on earth”. He competed in an 11-day ultra-marathon across the Gobi Desert, has crossed the entire Qatar Desert non-stop and unsupported and has hauled his own sled over 400km across Antarctica. He has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Blanc and has 40 sky-diving jumps to his name! In his latest project – “Around the World in 80 Ways” Miles and two fellow adventurers, each with a disability, used 80 different modes of transport to travel around the world.

Victor Serov
Victor has extensive experience in logistics and guiding, taking tourist teams to the North Pole as well as leading the Millennium Ski expedition to the South Pole. He was a geophysicist at the Russian scientific drifting station and the Russian Antarctic station, and was manager of geophysical expeditions in the Russian Arctic. He has also been co-leader on many scientific and filming expeditions to places such as Franz Josef Land in Russia. Victor has led many mountaineering trips to Mt. Elbrus, Caucasus, Tian-Shan, Mt. Aconcagua and Pamirs in the Kyzyl-Kum desert, Kilamanjaro and the Kamchatka volcanoes.

Walter Buchanan
Walter has more than 20 years operational and events experience in the sports and entertainment industry, from Production Crew through various positions such as Production Manager, Tour Manager, Operations Manager, Event Manager for clients such as Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Coca Cola, American Airlines, Pepsi, and the Canadian Music Video Awards. Walter ran his own Sports and Marketing company for 12 years, and more recently was appointed the Director of Event Services for Encore Strategic Marketing and GMR Marketing Inc, working on delivering events and sports and entertainment marketing programmes for companies such as Miller, Molson and Kelloggs.

Robert Swan MBE
Robert is an adventurer, environmentalist and motivational speaker. In 1989 he became the first person in history to reach both the South and North Poles. Reaching the North Pole in 1989 was the culmination of 7 years of planning, training and fund raising. He then took his drive and experience into environmental projects following his keynote address at the Earth Summit in 1992 in Rio. He was appointed as the Special Envoy to the Director General of UNESCO in 1994. He recently spoke at the 2002 Earth Summit and continues to drive charitable business activities relating to youth and the environment.

Grahame Murphy
Grahame is a well-regarded senior project specialist and information technology professional. The former CIO of Fujitsu Australasia, his track record of nearly 25 years has covered systems programming, technology research & development, information systems (I.T.) directorship, large-scale project management and global I.T. strategic planning. Although not a career adventurer Grahame has three notable high altitude mountaineering achievements, he has skydived on to the Geographic North Pole and sled-hauled his way from the Antarctic coast to the Geographic South Pole. He is on the professional speaking circuit, providing keynote speeches, inspirational talks and leadership seminars.

John Shannon
John has extensive top-level management experience. After holding several consultancy positions, John founded three businesses including Excalibur Investments (securities specialists), National Trust Services (asset protection and tax specialists), and The Currency Trader (futures and foreign exchange traders). He held senior management positions in two start-ups and later became the VP and Regional Sales Director at Genutec Business Solutions Inc. John then became VP of Finance and Administration at GenX Technologies Inc. John is a Professor of Entrepreneurship at Concordia University and is an advisor on their Entrepreneurial MBA programme.

Geoff Somers
Geoff has over 25 years experience in both the Arctic and the Antarctic. He was a member of the transantarctic expedition of 1992 that traversed the Antarctic continent along its longest axis, a 4750 mile trip. He has guided numerous expeditions to the North Pole, as well as providing logistical and air support to Antarctic expeditions. He guided a 700 mile, 60 day polar expedition to the South Pole and has also trekked a grueling 1000 miles with Crispin Day and Robert Swan OBE from the South Pole to the Orville Coast.

Roger Sanford
Roger has over 20 years of senior management experience and significant marketing and branding knowledge. He has launched more than 23 companies and over 50 products. He defied a 3 year recession to build his own self-capitalised company and led it to the top 10 (ranked 7th) ‘Privately Held Silicon Valley Companies’. He has been responsible for strategic planning, financial activities, achieving profitability and resource maximisation/allocation. He has extensive experience in marketing, defining competitive advantage and the marketplace, investor relations, customer service, sales, support and presentation.

Mark Fennell
Mark is a successful entrepreneurial creative designer and adventurer. Having created a successful dot com focusing on the graphics and design communities he is now a household name in the design world. He has a trip to the North Pole to his name is a competition paraglider and adventure traveller. Mark has extensive experience in live event websites and also is part of the design conference circuit scene.

Alan Chambers MBE
During his 16 years with the Royal Marines, Alan faced some of the world’s toughest climates: arctic, desert, jungle through to remote mountains. He is a qualified diver, parachutist, paramedic and ski survival instructor. He spent 4 winters teaching arctic survival techniques in the mountains of north Norway. Alan led the first British team to walk unsupported in a 70 day, 500 mile trek from Canada to the geographical North Pole.

John Bowman
John possesses over twenty years of broad finance and operations business experience. He holds an MBA in Finance, from the University of California, Berkeley, and has held a variety of senior executive positions (CFO, CEO, COO) at companies such as Wireless Data Systems Network, Centura Software Corporation, Hickey & Hill and Unisys Corporation. His particular expertise is in situations requiring determined management and inventive problem solving skills.

Justin Speake
Justin has over 18 years experience in managing people, finances and change within Sales, Service and Operations. He has worked at general manager and VP level for major organizations including Computer Associates, RR Donnelly, Debug Holdings plc and Centura Software Limited. He founded InnerLimits following his successful Millennium South Pole expedition.
